Spring is reset season. Winter leaves behind road salt, grit and bonded fallout that a normal wash won't shift. Start with a proper decontamination wash — foam, iron fallout remover, tar remover and clay — then lay down a spray sealant as your base layer for the year.
Summer is about UV defence. Park in shade where you can, keep a quick detailer and a microfiber in the boot for bird droppings (they etch within hours in heat), and top your protection mid-summer. Dark cars suffer most — check horizontal panels monthly.
Autumn Seal, Winter Rinse
Autumn is your last easy window: a full wash and a durable sealant before temperatures drop. Pay attention to door jambs, arches and the fuel flap — the places winter salt hides.
In winter, frequency beats perfection. Rinse off salt weekly, even if a full wash isn't possible, and never scrub a frozen panel. Touchless pre-wash first, then a careful hand wash on milder days.
